Anxiety Therapy in Toronto & Online Across Ontario
Evidence-based help for racing thoughts, constant worry, and the exhaustion that comes with them
When worry runs the show
Anxiety has a way of taking over quietly. It keeps you rehearsing conversations at 2 a.m., double-checking things you know are fine, and bracing for problems that haven't happened. From the outside you may look like you're coping — work gets done, the family gets fed — but inside, your mind never stops. If that sounds familiar, you are far from alone: anxiety is one of the most common reasons adults and teens in Ontario reach out for therapy, and one of the most treatable.
What anxiety can look like
- Racing thoughts, constant "what ifs," and trouble switching off at night
- Tension in your body — tight chest, restless stomach, headaches, fatigue
- Avoiding situations, conversations, or decisions that feel overwhelming
- Irritability or feeling on edge with the people closest to you
- Perfectionism, over-preparing, or needing constant reassurance
- Panic symptoms — a pounding heart, shortness of breath, a sense of dread
You don't need to tick every box, and you don't need a diagnosis to deserve support. If anxiety is shrinking your life, that's reason enough.
How anxiety therapy helps
Therapy for anxiety is practical. Together we'll slow the spiral down and look at what's actually driving it. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — the most researched approach for anxiety — we identify the thought patterns that keep worry going and practise realistic ways to answer them. Solution-Focused Therapy keeps us anchored to what you want more of, not just what you want less of. Along the way you'll build a toolkit that works between sessions: calming your body's alarm system, postponing worry instead of wrestling it at midnight, and facing avoided situations in small, manageable steps.
Every plan is shaped to fit you — your history, your culture, your goals, and your pace. For clients who wish, faith and spirituality can be part of the work; it is always optional and always at your invitation.
What sessions look like
Sessions are 50 minutes, held by secure, PHIPA-compliant video from wherever you feel most comfortable — home in Toronto, a parked car on lunch break, or a quiet room anywhere in Ontario. There's nothing to install; you simply click a private link. We begin with what matters most to you, check in on the tools you've been practising, and finish with something concrete to try before we meet again. I work with adults and adolescents, and we review progress together regularly so therapy stays useful, not open-ended.

Individual therapy is $170 for a 50-minute session. Psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist is HST-exempt, and receipts are provided for extended health benefit (EHB) insurance claims. Payment is by Interac e-Transfer, PayPal, or secure online card payment.
Common questions
How quickly can therapy help? Many people notice small shifts within the first few sessions — a tool that works, a better night's sleep, a worry challenged. Meaningful, lasting change usually builds over 8–12 sessions, though everyone's pace is different.
Do I need a diagnosis to start? No. You don't need a diagnosis or a referral. If worry is affecting your life, that's reason enough to reach out.
Is online therapy for anxiety effective? Yes — research consistently shows online CBT works as well as in-person therapy for most people.
